Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon will attend an informal Asean Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) in Vientiane, Laos, on Nov 16-17, defence spokesman Maj Gen Kongcheep Tantravanich said on Monday. Maj Gen Kongcheep said there will be an exchange of opinions on regional security and a review and an assessment of cooperation between Asean ministers over the past year. At the meeting, Laos will hand over the rotating chairmanship of the ADMM to the Philippines. After that there will be an information exchange between the defence ministers of Asean and Japan, a dialogue partner, to expand cooperation and develo the potential of Asean to effectively respond to security challenges in the region, the spokesman said.
